3rd - 5th
This is an elementary art course will explore cultural, historic and studio aspects of visual arts. Emphasis is on the development of visual and aesthetic awareness and appreciation.
The primary mission of the Art Department is to expose students to a general visual art education. Through discussion, inquiry and experimentation students will be exposed to art history, art appreciation, and studio art. It is my goal to foster an appreciation and critical awareness for the visual arts. Studio skills, critical thinking, and exposure to multiple aesthetic approaches will be explored. It is my hope to provide students with cultural enrichment and provide a venue for arts advocacy.
Students will not be expected to produce master art works but to rather produce an over whelming effort and willingness to participate.
